Waterside Lodge is situated on the banks of Wilderness lagoon opposite the mouth and facing the Indian Ocean. As with most estuaries one can observe the ebb and flow of high and low tides respectively.
Each one of our four rooms has its own veranda creating a tranquil and serene setting for guests to unwind and relax while watching the changing tides...
Waterside Lodge is within walking distance of the beach, the fresh water lagoon and the charming Wilderness Village with its many quaint shops and superb restaurants.
Each room is named after an indigenous bird that you are likely to see in our garden. Each room is tastefully decorated, comfortable and is fully equipped to cater for every guests needs.
The Sunbird Suite - Honeymoon suite
This semi self catering free-standing thatched roof Cabin is situated in the best position on the property, away from the main house for absolute privacy and taking in the best views of the beautiful Wilderness Lagoon and Ocean.
This room is our Honeymoon suite and is elegantly decorated and ideal for romance and relaxation in total privacy. The suite also has a private entrance and lovely wrap-around deck from which to soak up the stunning views.
The suite features a king size bed or twin beds, reading chairs, TV, fridge, microwave and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a beautiful free standing bath for two and separate shower with twin his and hers basins.
The Canary Cottage
A fully self-catering unit with mountain views only, situated in a private corner of the property. Bedroom with ample cupbaord space, bathroom with shower and a living room with fully-equipped kitchenette.
The Loerie Cabin
A thatched roof log cabin with an en-suite bathroom with shower. It has a king size bed or twin beds, TV and a fridge, tea/coffee tray. The Cabin has a private entrance and wooden deck which overlooks the beautiful garden, pool and a glimpse of the ocean beyond.
The Hadida Ibis Room
This semi self catering room overlooks the pool, lush gardens with views of the Lagoon and ocean beyond. It too has a king size bed or twin beds TV, fridge, microwave and a huge en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. The room has a private entrance and lovely covered patio next to the pool.
Popular activities on offer include scenic hikes for the fit and not-so fit, canoeing, paragliding, zip-lining, swimming, surfing, 4X4 trails, forest walks, cycling/mountain biking, visits to wildlife sanctuaries, fishing, shark-cage diving and so much more!
There are no fewer than ten world-class golf courses within easy distance of Waterside Lodge. These include Pezula, Simola, Sedgefield, George, Fancourt, Oubaai, Kingswood, Glenwood, Pinnacle Point and Mossel Bay.
The village of Wilderness is renowned for a superb selection of award winning restaurants, so guests will be spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out.
